In the north-eastern part of Switzerland, not far from Zurich city, a magnificent thermal resort Bad Ragaz stationed itself conveniently. You can get here from this city by train or by booking in the company “SWISSTRIP” a\u00a0<\/span>transfer\u00a0from Zurich airport<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>directly to your hotel. The road will take no more than an hour. Despite being a very small town, Bad Ragaz is extremely popular, since many businessmen who come to Zurich manage to combine a business trip with a visit to this respectable medical resort.<\/p>\n

The number of citizens in Bad Ragaz doesn\u2019t exceed 5,000. The local attraction is the springs pouring hot healing water in the Tamina gorge. They were discovered as early as in 1242 by Benedictine monks. Even then, the spring pouring water with the temperature of 36.5 degrees was believed to be a true miracle. After a plenty of subsequent tests, it turned out that the monks were right. The water was actually healing! People looking for healing were lowered in the wicker boxes tied by the ropes to the very bottom of this gorge. There, they were to bathe for as long as seven days in the black hot water.<\/p>\n

In the XIV century, the monks constructed wooden baths. The path from the gorge to the baths is astonishing, since at some points it is so narrow that it\u2019s impossible to see the sky. At the beginning of the XVIII century, the healing springs were already a part of the health resort.<\/p>\n

This is how the first thermal resort in Switzerland appeared. In the middle of the XIX century, the first four-kilometer wooden water pipe was laid here, which was used to bring the water to Bad Ragaz village. This was a fateful moment for an unknown small village, which rapidly turned into a famous resort.<\/p>\n

Nowadays, Bad Ragaz is famous not only for its mineral springs. This is a full-fledged recreational system. The local entertainment is suited to every fancy. Fearless visitors can climb to the very top of the mount Pizol, from where you can enjoy the indescribable beauties of mountain lakes and glaciers. Devotees of healthy recreation are sure to ride mountain bikes. There is a route for pedestrians that runs along the bank of the Tamina river and heads to the unique mountain lakes with crystal-clear water.<\/span><\/p>\n

Horse-riding, tennis, extreme jeep driving \u2013 all of these are available on the list of tourist attractions. Golf has a special place in the resort development history, since it is an aristocratic kind of sports activities. The players have been enjoying it for a hundred years. Now, the local golf club is considered to be the most prestigious in whole Switzerland. The game courts are conveniently located in a magnificent lowland, closed by mountain ranges all round. Here are two golf courses with different numbers of holes, with one being twice as large as the other.<\/p>\n

In winter, the visitors are delighted with snowboards, skates, and sledges. Skiing is a special joy, complemented with 50 kilometers of well-equipped trails with 13 chairlifts. This is an exquisite and appropriate complement to the mineral water treatment.<\/p>\n

Bad Ragaz won\u2019t allow the fans of ancient architecture to stay indifferent. Baroque buildings that housed the first Swiss resort, as well as stunning and unforgettable beauty of ancient medieval castles and churches are completely preserved. The town is a home to an art gallery and holds concerts on the regular basis. All this won\u2019t allow any of the tourists to stay indifferent.<\/p>\n

However, even if this is not enough, in a 20 minutes\u2019 drive from the resort, there is a central city of this Swiss region \u2013 Saint Gallen, with the Principality of Liechtenstein being located nearby. And in 50 minutes\u2019 drive or by train, Davos will show itself at its best. This is the most famous ski resort in Switzerland. Its landmark is a unique SPA center, which covers more than 3 thousand square meters. It includes a cosmetology center, a wellness complex, numerous hair salons and, of course, shops.<\/p>\n

Every guest can visit Helenabad thermal pool with jacuzzi and hydro massage; sports pool; summer pool in the open country \u2013 in the park; saunas and hamams equipped with the latest innovations, gyms; a variety of massage services \u2013 massage with sports elements, therapy with special stones, Ayurveda. Aromatherapists will deliver lots of fabulous sensations.<\/p>\n

For those who want to be vigorous and forever young, a special program \u201cThe Youth Secret\u201d has been developed, based on using a human\u2019s natural capabilities and body to the full.<\/p>\n

In Bad Ragaz, they can cure a large variety of illnesses: rheumatism, degenerative disorders and acute back pain, acute arthritis and problems with the supporting-motor system. Here, patients rehabilitate surprisingly quickly after surgeries, paralysis, most diverse neuropathologies and neurovegetative disorders. The climate is precious for patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases.<\/p>\n

Bad Ragaz is a unique place where all the guests will find what they are looking for, whether it is an active holiday, a crazy drive or peace and quiet for those seeking psychological balance.<\/span><\/p>\n
